Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps patients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors. CBT is commonly used to treat a wide range of disorders including phobias, addiction, depression and anxiety.

Cognitive behavior therapy is generally short-term and focused on helping clients deal with a very specific problem. During the course of treatment, people learn how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behavior.

Individual counseling involves talking about your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors and the things that are troubling you. You might spend time talking about your relationships with others, the things you are good at and the things you would like to do better. I will  work with you to set goals or identify the things you would like to accomplish by working together. I will also work with you on different strategies to help you reach your goals. In some cases this could mean helping you to change patterns of thinking or learning new skills or ways to behave. Sometimes I might also give you homework so that you can practice outside of the counseling sessions some of the things you are learning.Individual counseling is basically a collaborative effort between you and your counselor. Our goal is to provide an open, supportive, and confidential environment for you to address the issues that are concerning you.Cognitive behavior therapy has become increasingly popular in recent years with both mental health consumers and treatment professionals. Because CBT is usually a short-term treatment option, it is often more affordable than some other types of therapy. CBT is also empirically supported and has been shown to effectively help patients overcome a wide variety of maladaptive behaviors

Coaching is not about having someone else motivate you to do the things you don’t want to do but know you should do. Coaching is about clarifying what you really want, and finding a sustainable, exciting, and fun way for you to get what you want. Coaching will help you address the immediate challenges facing you, and it will also give you a set of tools and skills you can continue to use on your own long after the coaching has concluded.

There are many, many tools available for personal and professional growth. Individual coaching is one of the most powerful of these tools because it is entirely personalized to meet your needs, move at your pace, and serve your goals.

Coaching is—quite simply—a beautiful gift to give yourself.
